D.C. tomorrow.
May 28th, 2010
So yes, looks like we are frequenting a lot of big cities this Month. First it was New York then tomorrow, we are off to Washington, D.C. Nope, this time it’s not the leisurely type of trip. Although, I am meeting a friend again but we are going to meet some people to discuss to him direct mail marketing and other web services this person offers. You see, he wanted me to be there as he knows I have been blogging for a while already. He plans to open up a online business and I guess he just wanted to know my opinion.

She was amazing!
May 28th, 2010
So yes, I am back from my quick but very fun fun NYC trip. I love that city, I wish to find a job there and probably experience how it is to be a New Yorker. Do you think I am not serious? Well, I am! People in my circle was surprised when I told them about this. But I just fell in love with the city over and over again. Moving on, our reunion was so sweet and fab. I was amazed by our pregnant friend who also walk and walk the long roads and busy streets of NYC. She was so excited that she wanted to try out the breeches in Central Park hee hee. I am the one who was very afraid for her because she was already on her 7th month. But I guess, she is one mobile pregnant lady

My favorite channel is ABC
May 26th, 2010
Big shout out to Ashley Nelson for the guest post
I really like ABC on satalite tv. It gives me everything I want in a television channel. In the morning I am able to watch the local news and Good Morning America. I am informed on what is going on in the world both locally and internationally. Later on during the day I watch General Hospital. This is one show that has been on for many years and my mother has gotten me addicted. Every since I was a little girl I remember hearing the theme song for General Hospital when I came home from school. Nearly twenty years later I find myself glued to the television at three o’clock watching the same soap that my mother used to watch.
I also like ABC because on the weekends they have cartoons for the children. They have shows from the Disney channel on ABC, which could be a good thing for those that don’t get the Disney channel. ABC also has great family movies and interesting night time television. You could find just about anything on this channel, no matter what your taste is.
ABC has a channel that I grew up on. My family only watched the ABC news and ABC soaps, and I see myself doing the same. It is one local channel that has stuck with my family one generation after the next.

New “V: Visitors” Remake
May 26th, 2010
The latest craze in television programming seems to be the re-create or re-film classics. This is exactly why I was not surprised when I saw an advertisement for ABC’s new “V:Visitors” remake. I was skeptical at first and didn’t particularly want to watch it, however I must admit that I may have been wrong!
I recently watched Visitors the past Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised. The story of the show seems to be true to the original with enough changes to keep it exciting. I was particularly thrilled with the cast, it seems that they have done a fantastic job in selecting great actors and actresses. The actress: Morena Baccarin, who plays Anna, Leader of the Visitors, does an excellent job at portraying the cynical side of the Visitors’ intentions.
After watching an episode of “V” it became quite apparent that the visitors have much more on their agenda than helping humanity. The show did an excellent job at making me wonder what exactly is going to happen next and more importantly, what is the bigger picture. I have to admit that some of the lines come off as a little cliche, but that is to be expected.
Overall my impressions of “V” were good. I think that the special effects could have a little more realistic and the production value feels low overall, but again, that is to be expected of most big network weekly series and is hardly worth complaining over. “V” has certainly made me curious as to what will come next and where the story will go, I am fairly certain I will tune in next week on my DIRECTV satellite TV to see what happens in the next installment of “V” and remember, “John May Lives.”

The Benefits of Online Games
May 21st, 2010
There are many benefits to playing Online Games. Sure, computer games can be a lot of fun, but did you know they can also help boost your memory and improve your cognitive skills? Playing online games for at least a little while every day can actually be very beneficial to your mental health.
1. Online games help to boost memory. One of the main functions of our brains is memory. For years, problem solving games and methods have been used to help improve the memory function in our brains. Online games can help us to exercise our brains and in turn boost our memories. Young and old like computer games that are fun challenges and target memories, like puzzle games and trivia.
2. Online games improve reasoning. Our reasoning skills are also sharpened when we play some online games. Sometimes, our “logical” sides of our brains don’t get used as much as other areas of our brains. Online games help to exercise the logic and reasoning parts of our brain that often aren’t used much. Additionally, online games can help to prevent dementia that often accompanies old age.
3. Online games help cognitive development. Especially in children, computer games can help with cognitive development. Memory, speed, reasoning, and logic are often measured to have improved after children play online games. Plus, games are a natural part of childhood. As technology increases, it’s only logical that children’s games will go right along with the technology. A healthy dose of online games can be very healthy for a young mind.
Online games sometimes get a bad rap, but the truth is that online gaming, when used correctly, can actually improve our cognitive skills and help with brain function. The next time you feel like giving your brain a workout, try turning to an online game for some memory improvement.

My Favorite “House” Episode
May 19th, 2010
Thanks for the guest post by Tracy Miller
House series medical drama has been on the air since November 16th, 2004 and has won many awards and accreditations for being a unique and excellent show. I watch House every chance I get on my direct tv satellite tv because in my opinion Gregory House may be the greatest character television has ever seen. Hobbled by a leg injury, House uses every chance he gets to make people dislike him. His only interest is solving the medical puzzles others call patients. House believes in one truth above all else; everybody lies. He uses this belief to solve some of the most intricate and puzzling medical issues in the world. With the help of his team, his boss, and his sole friend, House solves the medical mysteries that other doctors could never handle.
The fourth episode in the series of House was titled “Maternity” and aired on December 7th, 2004. In this episode a group of newborns all contract the same disease at the same time while in the hospitals nursery. House recognizes the issue right away but is forced to prove his theory to others before a quarantine of the labor and delivery floor is approved. Knowing next to nothing about why the babies are becoming ill and are on the verge of death, House has to make unthinkable moral decisions in order to save as many lives as possible.
The reason this episode is so powerful and is one of my favorites is that although House is egotistical and spurns the fury in other human beings, this episode shows he does care about his patients on some level even though he says he does not. The choices he has to make during the episode are also powerful, and House is forced to sacrifice lives in order to save other lives. This episode shows how life and death can hang on a single decision and on the strings of fate.

deviation.
May 16th, 2010
You know the line in Legally Blonde when Reese Witherspoone’s character emphasized the importance of Exercising because it makes you happy? Yes, that is oh-so-true, when I feel sluggish and cranky, the main reason is the fact that I skip my daily exercise and work out routine. Try it, you’d know the difference. However, some people would prefer indulging in sports rather than doing exercises because they find it very boring and predictable. Dear hubby is like that. He is such a huge sports enthusiast. That is why I am thinking of checking our games at Texas Stadium or the Giants Stadium to see if I could treat him with Super Bowl Tickets. I am pretty sure he’d be very excited about it.
I have checked the rates at Ticket America after being highly-recommended by my friends and so far so good, so very affordable. Now, what I need is to reconcile my and dear hubby’s schedule. That can be very challenging but I hope we’d make time for it. We need this break, we deserve this. Lest of all, it would be a first time for the both of us tee hee.

Mantra for the Coming Week.
May 15th, 2010
“Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.”Groucho Marx
