insured!

May 16th, 2011

Have your life become like that girl on the photo?
Always connected, always online, forgetting what’s life outside your computer?
How about doing yourself a favor and get out of the room, turn off the computer right now. You can’t how about promising yourself to be offline for at least 24 hours a day in a week and commune with nature, smell the flowers, breathe fresh air and finish items in your to do list such as getting this 5th wheel insurance online quote which you have been delaying for quite a while now. Do it now before time escapes on you. I am so glad to be doing this to myself for almost half a year now. I pick a day in the weekend to completely shut off myself from technology. So far, so good, loving this habit!

and then some…

November 17th, 2010

I got this full list of 50 Fabulous Ways to Save Money from a dear blogger friend. While the list is a long one and raises quite realistic pointers, I posted below some of  the doable items list which I could really incorporate with my daily life. I must take my savings very seriously, I have done too much shopping for the 1st quarter of the year and I have got to stop looking and stop buying. We made a huge decision yesterday that concerns DS. We are putting him in a full-private Pre-K school for the whole of the Summer Season in preparation for his Kindergarten. It will take a lot in our monthly budget, hence, serious tightening of belt is a must. Hmmm, do you think I can do this? Absolutely! I have to focus on my job hunting and once I have a fulltime job plus this booming online sideline, then I can resume my love for shopping again. But while I do not have anything stable yet, I must save and tighten my belt.

  • Balance your checkbook… avoid bank fees.
  • Empty your spare change in to a jar.
  • Eat out less often.
  • Purchase gifts throughout the year and store them.
  • Turn off the water when not in use.
  • Distinguish between your wants and needs.
  • Purchase fewer “trendy” items that need to be replaced each year.
  • Pay your bills on time… avoid late fees.
  • Track your spending.
  • Use Coupons.
  • Pay off your credit cards… avoid interest fees.
  • Empty your fridge before shopping again.
  • Stick to a budget.
  • Turn off unused lights.
  • Grocery shop on a full stomach.
  • Maintain excellent credit… avoid higher interest rates.
  • Exercise outside vs. the gym.
  • Avoid shopping when feeling emotional.
  • Grocery shop with a list and stick to it!
  • Simplify! Need or want less…
  • Purchase store brands or generics.
  • Make conscious spending decisions vs. autopilot choices.
  • Pay your savings first.
  • Accept “hand me downs”.
  • Organize your receipts and warranties so you can find them.

On Monday.

August 13th, 2010

Before I log off and check out these cellulite cures, because YES, I do not have any plans on going online for 4 days in preparation for my big interview on Monday. (READ: I need to read loads and loads of tips and Public Finance Administration books, just so I can be prepared :P , paran oid much?).

Here’s sharing my Mantra next Monday during one of the biggest ordeals of my life. I really wish all the wisdom and confidence in the world during that 1.5 hours :P .

Have a good weekend everyone and please please keep me in your prayers.

Day One: Gratitude Journal.

August 12th, 2010

Before I officially begin work and before my other boss asks me to research on the specs of this Samsung TV, let me share with you another spiritual milestone I am about to begin :) .

I am yet on another 14-day liquid fasting diet. This is probably my 3rd spiritual fasting this year, you might notice that yes, I need desperate divine intervention towards a better me, I just need to. Apart from this. I am starting my gratitude journal where I would write each night of my life all the things I am grateful for the day that was.

Fortunately, my gratitude journal is not as beautiful as the one in the pic. I have here an unused Travel Journal and might as well use it.

Hope you all have a blessed week ahead and let’s all keep improving ourselves :) Ciao!

Just Doh it!

“Take it easy, but take it.”
Woody Guthrie

Ever since I got the call for an in-person interview for this 2nd dream job of mine, I have been very stressed. I may not look like I would be needing any emergency assistance because I still carry my stress with grace :P , but I have been losing weight already hee hee. Now that’s a good thing.

It’s just so surreal, everything seems to be falling in its right places and that God is truly listening to my prayers :D .

Then it dawned on me while sipping my coffee that yes, HE has been showing me plenty of miracles for the past 2.5 years already. I just don’t see it clearly but looking at where we are now, everything is a miracle.

I will give my best shot on Monday and I will leave it up to HIM afterwards.

Today is a Gift.

June 23rd, 2010

Wheeee!
I got 2 important calls today :) .
One from a friend who is finalizing her wedding invitations and has confirmed me as her MOH and my son as their Bible Bearer.

And the other phonecall was from someone I have been anxiously waiting for over 2 weeks now!

I can’t believe that my prayers were answered and this is the last step towards reaching one of my dream jobs :) .

Bro, please keep me in your grace. I know you will! Thanks again for showing me that miracles do happen!

higher grounds

June 10th, 2010

“Alex: It doesn’t matter how tough we are. Trauma always leaves a scar. it follows us home, it changes our lives. Trauma messes everybody up. But maybe that’s the point. All the pain and the fear and the crap. Maybe going through all that is what keeps us moving forward. It’s what pushes us. Maybe we have to get a little messed up. Before we can step up.”

- Alex Karev – Grey’s Anatomy
